Dear art lovers!<\/p>\n

Gallery-Museum Lendava and Municipality of Lendava kindly invites you and your friends to the opening of the exhibition titled <\/p>\n

Christo & Jeanne-Claude: Hidden Reality<\/strong>,<\/span> <\/p>\n

which will be held on Friday, 6 September 2019 at 7 p.m.<\/strong> at Lendava Castle.<\/p>\n

Opening speech:
\nDubravko Baumgartner<\/em>, director of GML,
\nJanez Magyar<\/em>, mayor of Municipality of Lendava and
\n\u00a0Atilla Pisnjak<\/em> art historian.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will be opened by Nada Zoran<\/em>, Secretary at the Directorate for Cultural Heritage at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia.<\/p>\n

The music program will be provided by the professors of the Lendava’s Music School, Diana Milkovi\u0107<\/em> (flute) and Eva Ba\u017eika Orban<\/em> (piano).<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION<\/h2>\n

Hidden Reality<\/strong>
\nA Christo and Jeanne-Claude Exhibition<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Christo, born in Bulgaria, and his French wife, Jeanne-Claude, are the most well-known artists associated with the “wrapping” of artistic and cultural objects and buildings. Until Jeanne-Claude’s death in 2009, they were not only companions in life, but also in art. During several decades of joint creativity, they gained recognition through monumental projects, such as, for example, the wrapping of Berlin’s Reichstag in 1995. After the death of his wife, Christo’s working tempo slowed, but he is still active. In 2020, he will realize his long-standing desire to wrap the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.<\/p>\n

Exhibited in Lendava castle gallery are the artistic couple’s most interesting and popular undertakings. Among them are projects like the wrapping of the Pont Neuf in Paris (1975-1985); The Umbrellas<\/em>, set up simultaneously in California and Japan (1984- 1991); the wrapping of the Reichstag (1971-1995), and Thee Gates<\/em> (2005) that decorated Central Park in New York. More than half a century of creative work is shown in photographs, prints, collages and various related objects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
