GIORGIO DE CHIRICO – Metaphysical Artist<\/p>\n

The Italian painter, graphics artist, sculptor and writer, Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978), was among the most important artists in early 20th century movements. His name is inseparable from metaphysical art, as he was not only the movement\u2019s founder, but its most prominent representative as well. The Scuola Metafisica group was established in 1917 in the Italian city of Ferrara, but de Chirico had created his first metaphysical painting already in 1910. De Chirico greatly influenced his contemporaries, especially the Surrealists, who saw him as their predecessor and unparalleled model.<\/p>\n

The exhibition, entitled Giorgio de Chirico – A Metaphysical Artist, displays works from his final creative period. The motifs and stylistic elements that had brought him fame at the start of the century gradually began to reappear in his artworks in 1968. The exhibited pieces provide an insight into the important period of de Chirico’s creativity that concluded his artistic career, and they bring the endeavors and characteristics of metaphysical art closer to us.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will be present to the end of October 2020.<\/em><\/p>\n
