Taking
place each July it is an artist-led initiative which
strives to provide a meeting place for artists working in
“traditional” visual disciplines (painting, fine print,
drawing). It brings together artists of all
nationalities for 10 days to work, exchange dialogue
and experiment in a way that is mutually beneficial. LindArt is
by now recognized as a unique and highly valued opportunity for
emerging artists to examine their practice in critically engaged
global contexts.

LindArt provides a highly
successful artistic model for creative enquiry which leads
artists to create extensions of their existing practice.
The platform of our programme is based upon the motto
of “co-operation” with its main idea of gathering
the selected artists into tandems (working couples) to
work during the residency period on a theme that is defined
beforehand by the organizer. This way the artists are invited to
move away from their habitual practice in terms of materials and
style and to show a genuine willingness to place themselves and
their practice into question; truly explore areas of artistic
and cultural uncertainty and seek creative solutions through the
collaboration and, exchange cultural/artistic dialogue that is
the hallmark of the Workshop.

The LindArt Artists’ Colony offers an opportunity of
participating in an activity removed geographically and
conceptually from usual studio practice; in an environment
where experiments can be made and leaps of imagination can
occur.
