FINE ART EXHIBITION: Ernst Fuchs

INVITATION

The Lendava Gallery – Museum and the Municipality of Lendava cordially invite you and your friends to the opening of an exhibition by Austrian artist Ernst Fuchs,
on Friday, 17 May 2024 at 7 pm at the Lendava Castle.

The exhibition will be opened by:
Dubravko Baumgartner, Director of the Lendava Gallery-Museum,
Dr Janez Balažic, art historian,
Janez Magyar, Mayor of the Municipality of Lendava.

The opening of the exhibition will be followed by a concert by the Chameleon Jazz Band from Budapest.

The exhibition will be on display until 31 October 2024.

Ernst Fuchs (1930 – 2015)

Ernst Fuchs (13 February 1930 – 9 November 2015) was an Austrian painter, draftsman, printmaker, sculptor, architect, stage designer, composer, poet, and one of the founders of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. In 1972, he acquired the derelict Otto Wagner Villa in Hütteldorf, which he restored and transformed. The villa was inaugurated as the Ernst Fuchs Museum in 1988.

Chameleon Jazz Band

The special musical programme, specially composed for this evening, is based on the hits from the anniversary tour of six countries. The repertoire also includes the best-known compositions by Ernst Fuchs’ musical friends.

Short introduction

Combining melodic jazz and sophisticated pop music, the Kameleon Jazz Band has played more than 350 concerts in 50 cities in 9 European countries in recent years. In spring 2021, the band released the album “STORIES” with eight original songs and in November 2021 the short film “LIVE FROM TOKAJ”. In May 2022, they released a new music video and in December 2022 a single “YOU AND I”. In autumn 2023, “LIGHTS OF SAN FRANCISCO” and “LOADED” were added to their repertoire. The 2023/24 season will see the start of an anniversary tour, which will take them to Vienna, Budapest, Târgu Mures, Prague, Stuttgart and other cities.

Guest artists of the Chameleon Jazz Band were – Tamás Berki, Charlie, Klára Hajdu, Misi Horváth, Orsi Kozma, Andrea Malek, Erika Náray, Andrea Szulák, Feng Ya Ou. Rezső Bálint, founder and artistic director of the orchestra, trumpeter, was awarded the Hungarian Artisjus Prize.
